Memorial Inscription Links

Some helpful links

These links lead you to some excellent websites on transcribing Monumental Inscriptions. There are also links to building websites.

Alan Simpson, a member of the Oxfordshire FHS and leader of a very active MI team, has a very good website page on transcribing MIs

Alan has also devised a technique for putting the transcribed data onto CD Rom. Here he generously shares his ideas.

Alan advises: "Additional team members are always welcomed. No previous experience is necessary".

"We are also keen to continue working with other local transcribing teams, with a view to producing their transcripts in our standard CDROM format".

"If you have a project under way at your local churchyard, or are thinking about starting one, we would be very happy to offer help, advice and encouragement. Please email me at the address above".

If you think you may be able to lend a hand with any of these projects, please email me, Alan Simpson, at:
